The Polish military has already had time to get acquainted with the South Korean K2 tanks and they speak favorably of their equipment
The 20th Mechanized Brigade of the Polish Army will be reinforced with new South Korean K2 tanks. These armored combat vehicles will be stationed near the border with the Russian Kaliningrad region, Polska Zbrojna reports. The ceremony of handing over ten K2 tanks took place in Morongi – the deployment point of this brigade.
“He who saves on the army pays a high price. All of Russia’s neighbors know about the threat that comes from this neighborhood. That is why recently, especially in the last few years, we have made great efforts to strengthen and modernize the Polish army,” noted the premier Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the ceremony of handing over tanks to the 20th mechanized brigade of the Polish Army.

“Economy on the army is a pseudo-economy,” Moravetsky noted, noting the profitable cooperation with South Korea, because in addition to K2 tanks compatible with NATO weapons, Poland also receives “not only military equipment, but also “technical opinion.”
As Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak noted in his turn, the South Korean K2 tank is one of the most modern tanks in the world, developed in the 21st century: “This is a tank with great potential. We use the best experience gained in South Korea.”
The Polish military reacted favorably to the receipt of new tanks. “We could not have expected a better gift for Christmas,” said the commander of the unit, Colonel Tomasz Bedziak.
It will be recalled that earlier this year, Poland signed an agreement for the supply of 180 K2 tanks for $3.37 billion, and the first 10 tanks under the contract have already arrived in Poland, while the entire contract must be completed by 2025.
