Belarusian analysts detected Russian tanks transfer closer to Ukrainian border

On Belarusian territory, the Russian Armed Forces are transferring equipment, particularly tanks, closer to the Ukrainian border.

The Belaruskiy Hayun monitoring group reported on the movement of echelons with military equipment.

It is noted that approximately at 5 a.m. on December 20, an echelon with military equipment departed from the Polonka railway station (near the Obuz-Lesnovsky combat training range) and arrived in Luninets in the Brest region.

23 T-80 tanks, 8 fuel tankers, 9 trucks (Urals and KamAZs), 2 passenger and 7 freight cars were recorded on the echelon platforms.

One more echelon with equipment and weapons passed through Shklow in the Mogilev region. The analysts recorded 20 BMP-2, 3 fuel trucks and 7 Urals, a mobile communications control point mounted on the KamAz chassis, 4 Russian Railways passenger cars and 3 freight cars. This echelon arrived in Kalinkavichy in the Gomel region.

The day before, on December 19, at the Zaslonovo railway station in the Vitebsk region, 20 tanks and about 16 Urals of the Russian Armed Forces were spotted being loaded onto the platforms. This equipment was located at the Lepelski training ground.

Subsequently, this echelon went towards Osipovichi. Previously, his destination was the city of Slutsk in the Minsk region.

At the same time, the monitoring group reports that the equipment can be transported to joint military exercises of the Russian Federation and Belarus.

As previously reported, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus was informed that the military of Belarus and the Russian Federation were undergoing combat coordination at the Brest training ground. The exercises take place under the formation of a joint grouping of troops.

Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the movement of Russian equipment and aviation on the territory of Belarus. He specified that the joint flights of the Russian А-50U AEW&C and MiG-31K fighter aircraft are conducted to identify targets on the territory of Ukraine.

He also added that the 2nd Guards Motor Rifle Division of the 1st Guards Tank Army is currently stationed on the territory of Belarus.
