Baykar showcased the concept of the UAV production factory in Ukrαine

The Turkish Baykar enterprise unveiled the concept of a drone production factory planned to be constructed in the Kyiv region.

According to Defense Express, Baykar continues implementing its plan to establish a research and production center in Ukraine.

Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of the Turkish company, confirmed the intention to set up a drone production factory in Ukraine.

The factory will take up a space of over 30,000 square meters, and more than 300 Ukrainian engineers and technicians will be employed there.

Bayraktar also shared with the publication its concept of what the drone production factory will look like.

It will produce not only the Bayraktar TB2 but also the Akinci and even, probably, the state-of-the-art Kizilelma jet-powered supersonic stealth сarrier-capable UСAV, along with the other Baykar products.

The concept of the Baykar factory in Ukraine

Ukrainian engineers will be involved in the development of new Bayraktar products.

Currently, two Turkish UAVs are using Ukrainian engines. These are the MS-500 and Ai-450 for the Akinci and Kizilelma with the Ai-25. The Ai-25 is the newest drone with a wide range of tasks.

Baykar completed assembling the second prototype of the Bayraktar Kizilelma jet combat drone. The first flights of both prototypes are expected in 2023.

As previously reported, on September 9, Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Haluk Bayraktar. The meeting participants focused on further cooperation of Ukraine with the company in strengthening the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The parties also discussed the details of constructing the Baykar factory in Ukraine and manufacturing new products using Ukrainian parts.

The President of Ukraine awarded Haluk Bayraktar with the Order of Merit of the 1st Class and thanked him, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the Turkish people for their support in the war against Russian aggression.
