5 held over question paper leak

A team of Serious Crime Investigation of DB arrested the five from different areas under Kafrul and Lalbagh police stations last night, said deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police at a press briefing at DMP media centre today.

They also seized 12 electronic devices, 16 micro head phones, 15 mobile phones, 25 SIMs and four books used for solving the question papers of different exam, he said.

The arrestees are Md Rounak Hasan, Md Mehedi, Md Haris, Md Sobuj and Md Khaled.

In primary investigation, the arrestees admitted that they used to supply question papers of different exam and admission tests to the candidates in exchange of money, the DC said.

They leaked the question paper through electronic devices, he added.

A case was filed with Kafrul Police Station against at least 14 people.

A total of 125 people including the four have been made accused in the charge-sheet submitted on June 23.
